100 Requests?
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21, NIV)

We had two young women send emails recently, both staying in a local women’s shelter, both asking for donations of coats, clothing, and winter items. My first thought was, I cannot wait to work on these requests! My second thought was, if word gets out and even half the people in the shelter ask for help, there would be over 100 requests! It immediately made me nervous.
It didn’t take long for those nerves to go away because I know God is able to do so much more than I can fathom. Would it be complicated? Probably. Messy? Maybe. But wouldn’t it be beautiful?!?
I have seen God show up time and again in this ministry, in my personal life, and in the lives of those around me in more ways than I can count. He provides things I don’t even think to request. Some of my big, daring asks are met in ways I never could have imagined.
I have no desire to get stuck in a place where requests and needs are met with any sort of fear instead of prayer and joy. I’m almost embarrassed to admit I had a moment where that was the case. God is in the big picture and the details and I’m excited to see what may come of these first two contacts. Maybe nothing…maybe something big! Pray with us, would you?
