"Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp." Psalm 149:3
Many traditional churches outlaw any form of dancing. My church doesn't say much about it one way or the other, but clearly there are people who are uncomfortable with any form of dancing, and that includes dancing as you worship and praise God. Although I completely agree that dancing in many forms has become nothing more than erotic sex with clothes on, dancing (even that done at a celebration or a party) is not specifically condemned in the Scriptures. In fact, just the opposite. Jesus himself described a party where a "lost son returns" as having "music and dancing." As I've encouraged you in many writings, do not let yourself become enslaved by needless rules and regulations. Rather, love the Lord with all your heart, soul and strength... and then praise Him with everything you do. If that includes dancing, so be it! Just remember that keeping your body and mind pure are also part of loving and worshiping God.
"Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing." Jesus of Nazareth (Luke 15:25)
