Believe it or not, the New Testament has many parts that some denominations and sects of Christianity choose not to believe. Some don't believe that speaking in tongues exists as a sign of God's Spirit any longer. Others don't believe that a woman should ever speak in church. Some will tell you that women must wear skirts, that dancing is a sin, and believe it or not, that using musical instruments in a worship service is not allowed any longer. When it gets right down to it, it's almost unbelievable the divisions we've caused because we simply choose not to take God's word at face value. If you need evidence that Satan is alive and well, that should do it! He's been at work a long time. Not so dissimilar was a disagreement in the times of Christ and of the early apostles. There was a group of people who refused to believe in the resurrection of the dead. They believed it so wholeheartedly they even jailed those who preached it as Jesus did. My point is this: Really believing, or really not believing in something doesn't make it any more or less true. But what IS absolutely true is the Word of God. Can we agree to agree on that? If so, let's get back to the Word and tear down some walls we've built between our brothers and sisters!
"The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead." Acts 4:1-2
