What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31
Friends,
As we are settling into a new year, I keep seeing posts about new year, new you! I am a firm believer in setting goals and working toward them – that is essentially one of the main components of Harvest House! We cannot, however, avoid the truth - we will mess up, we will fail, and we will not hit every target we set.
The beautiful news is new year, same God! He hasn’t changed. He isn’t hiding, He isn’t asking us to do just one more thing before we can have a relationship with Him. He isn’t checking over our resolutions to make sure they are just right before He will forgive our sins. And there is no monthly check in to make sure we aren’t slacking. No, God hasn’t changed and He isn’t waiting for us to change either.
We sang a song in church last week with the lyric “God is FOR you”. I mean, the God of all the universe FOR me? In my mess? In my weakness? In my lows? If He is for me in all those places, how great a privilege and responsibility to point others to Him!
Friends, I can’t wait to see what this new year brings. Every year we are at this house I feel like I see and learn about God in new ways. He seems to reveal aspects of His character I may have missed before. Every new name added to my list is a way to see Him at work and the blessing of that is not lost on me. Please continue to pray for the women we are working with AND the ways God will grow this ministry in 2022.
In Christ,
Aaron and Elizabeth Kilby
