As a minister to unchurched youth, I run into quite an array of different religious beliefs. The one that always grabs me the hardest is when someone tells me that they are an atheist. "So, you're telling me you don't believe there is a god?" I'll say. "All of this you see, do, eat, breath, think... all of this is a random accident?" If they say they do believe there is a god, then I'll promptly tell them that they are not atheists--believing there is a god precludes that. Now the only question is "who IS God?" If they say they absolutely do not believe in God, then I do something that usually shocks them a little. I look right at them and say, "Yes you do! You believe there is a God because your own soul testifies to it day by day." I'll even go so far as to tell them to look around in the coming days--to observe what goes on around them, and then come back and deny God again. It just never happens! Denying that God exists is something so inhuman that I don't have any qualms about calling it a lie. You can travel to the farthest, most remote stretches of this planet and the people will have some form of worship--acknowledging God at some level of understanding. That fact alone testifies that God is who He says He is. Think about it. And the next time you hear someone say they don't believe there is a God, call their bluff!
"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." Romans 1:20
