Dear Friends,
When I was first called into ministry, I didn’t even know what that was or what it meant to me. All I knew was I had a burning in my heart for people who did not have a personal relationship with Jesus. All I could think about was how horrible it must be to live without His direction in my life and how it must grieve the Holy Spirit when someone passes away without accepting the gift of salvation found only in Christ. As leaders in the church saw God’s calling on my life, one of them suggested I read Oz Guinness’ “The Call”. That book took a spiritual feeling I had and explained it in layman’s terms. I then realized my life now had a real purpose! Little ole’ me could live a life focused on the things God focuses on, and for me that specifically meant I would be helping Him reconcile lost souls to the Kingdom. I now had a mission!
Nearly thirty years later, I’m still moved by the realization the Day of the Lord is closer than it’s ever been. Current events continuously point to the end of Satan’s reign in this world and to the Second Coming of Christ. But until that day comes, we are all called to be in the business of reconciling the world to Christ. Not all of us do it as evangelists, but all of us are called to be a part of the process in whatever way He leads. God is ALWAYS in the redemption business, and those who walk closely with Him will be in that business as well! Maybe it’s by serving in the Church. Maybe it’s by what many of you do by helping fund ministries such as this. Or maybe it’s by laboring in prayer for the lost or the ministers to the lost. In whatever way it is, I pray you continue to be attentive to the Word of the Lord and the urging of the Holy Spirit. Being at work WITH Jesus is a work with truly heavenly rewards! May God bless you for the part you play.
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Jim Kilby
