Assuming you were there, what was the sermon about in your church last Sunday? If you can remember, then what was the topic the week before? Few can remember much past Sunday dinner, if that long. And why? Because they didn't want to remember? Because they didn't try to remember? I wonder... If you added them all together, how many hours have you attended church in your life? Now, how many hours have you spent actually trying to DO what you've learned? It seems such a waste to learn so much and do so little, but that's what most Christians do. Is there any real point in learning about following Christ, and then not taking any action in that direction? Do we think God one day pat us on the back for the hours we've spent listening to sermons? Certainly not! But if we seek His heart, wanting to... and trying to please Him, He'll have much to commend us for. The next time you're personally challenged by a ser or by something in God's Word, STOP. Stop and take note of it... and pray that God will help you achieve what He's exhorting you to do. Then make a commitment to change. Without change as a goal, we're just practicing religion!
"But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand." Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 7:26)
