I've heard a lot about Christians trying to be "like Christ," but rarely have I seen a great example of it. Being like Christ isn't being a better you, it's being less you and more Him. As we are more like Him, He actually shines through us, and that can only happen as we shine less. Jesus made this point repeatedly, but in today's church the folks who get the most accolades for being "spiritual" are generally the ones out front--the ones that everybody knows and everybody applauds. Jesus was often off by Himself, resisting those who wanted to crown Him king and applaud Him. Being "like Christ" means being a servant through and through, and servants never want the credit--they do it all so the one they serve gets the praise.
"For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus Sake. For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of god in the face of Christ." 2 Corinthians 4:5-6
