I heard a young lady ripping into a friend of hers the other day and I was at least a little shocked. "I thought you guys were friends," I said. "We are!" she responded. "But she makes me so mad!" Might I also mention that both of these young ladies profess to be Christ followers. Somewhere along the way we've decided as a culture that it's OK to let someone have it as long as you're really mad! For those who think loosing your temper is alright, I challenge you to investigate death-row in the prison closest to you. If they'll even talk to you, ask them what happened that got them sentenced to death. I think you'll find that every person there will tell you that they got really mad, and that they don't remember much after that. It's at that point... at the point of "rage" that people's lives are destroyed forever. My advice is to keep a good handle on your temper, and on your tongue. Christians are supposed to be like Christ, period! Not like Christ until someone makes us mad!
"Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." Proverbs 12:18
