"An argument started among the disciples as to which of them would be the greatest." Luke 9:46
So who will be the greatest? Basically, Jesus said it will be those with an "attitude of gratitude"--meaning those who are looking to serve, instead of to be served. They'll need to come to Jesus without all the pride and arrogance most of us have. The way I see it, that ought to scare the life out of most American teenagers! Sure, there are still a few humble folks, but I'd say they're rarer than hens' teeth these days. And that is also why so few ever really will find Jesus. Most of us are too busy reading our own "press clippings" to notice how miserable we look in God's eyes.
"Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. Then he said to them, 'Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all--he is the greatest." Luke 9:47-48
