Whenever someone of influence dies, someone else of influence always seems to find a way to soften the blow by telling the world, "I'm sure they're in a better place now." While the intent is surely honorable, I wonder what makes them so "sure." What I'm sure of is that the world we live in is biblically illiterate and what sounds like "sure" certainty, is only really wishful thinking. God's Word is true, and has been proven true throughout the ages. The current famine of His Word does not change the fact that His prophecies will undoubtedly come true. "A better place?" Yes, but only for those who place their trust squarely on Jesus Christ.
"The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD , "when I will send a famine through the land- not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD ." Amos 8:11
