I ran into a friend in a local grocery store and we chatted for a few minutes. He's a youth pastor in a thriving church, so we had plenty to talk about. As we talked, I mentioned that I was heading out to Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio) on an outreach trip with a couple van loads of predominately unsaved kids. His response actually shocked me. He lamented that he'd tried for some time to get his youth to bring unsaved teens to his outreach events, but that most of them simply tell him they "just don't know any non-Christians!" While my fellow minister is quite a remarkable young man and no doubt has a heart for a lost and hurting world, it appears he's not been able to impart this love to his teens. That's more unfortunate than you may know because I've learned to sadly, but sincerely doubt the strength of a person's relationship with Christ if he/she is not actively attempting to tell others how wonderful He is. How can a person be "saved" unless they realize what it means to be lost? And if they truly remembered what it felt like to be without Jesus, I believe the Spirit of God would immediately convict them of their apathy and send them out to help others caught in Satan's trap.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20a
