The Scriptures tell us there will be a great famine in the last days, but not a famine for food, rather a lack of God's Word (Amos 8:11). I believe those days are coming, and in fact may already be here. The vast majority of the world could care less about the Holy Scriptures, and many of those who do consider them worthy to even be read do not believe they are God's word. Whole Christian denominations believe the great revelations of the Old Testament to only be allegories and stories to be applied to life if possible, but do not document actual events. From our records of Jesus' sermons, He quoted the Old Testament almost every time He spoke--that in itself testifies to the validity of those Scriptures being from the Almighty. The New Testament Scriptures were also God-breathed--and as originally given to man, are perfect in every way. As I've studied the Bible through the years I've learned one thing for certain. Without the Scriptures, I'd be a mere speck of the man He's helped me become through them. They have become my most precious treasure.
"They are not just idle words for you--they are your life." Deuteronomy 32:47a
