We've all heard it said, "It takes two to tango." Surely the old saying can be used in many different instances, but I've usually heard it used when someone winds up pregnant. Obviously, it does "take two" people to make a baby, but (speaking for unmarried couples), many times it seems that just one of them (usually the male) is pressing for a sexual relationship. I've done my fair share of counseling in these type situations, and I can tell you that most of the time the young ladies are not even really looking for sexual relationships, but rather for love and attention. They mistakenly believe that "giving in" to the man's advances will grant them that love. They couldn't be farther from the truth. Generally, the beginning of a sexual relationship outside the bounds of marriage will signal the end of the relationship before it even gets started. Although it sounds terrible, outside the bounds of marriage, I've found that young men just aren't as attracted to girls once they've had their way with them. For the young women I must say, beware--keep your morals intact and keep your faith. It's the only way to find a man worth keeping, and the only way to honor your God. To the young men I'll just say what Jesus said...
"Jesus said to his disciples, 'Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone [very large rock] tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin." Luke 17:1-2
