Have you ever considered the fact that when you turn away from one thing, you immediately are facing something else? Similarly, it's impossible for someone to turn away from faith, and not turn toward sin. Turning away from sin is, in itself, turning toward a life of faith. This is important, because all too often people claim to be "taking a break" from church or "struggling with faith." Doing either is in itself, turning away from our Lord and turning toward unholiness. Just like swimming in a river... when you stop swimming, you don't stop moving. You immediately start moving downstream.
"Repent, then, and TURN TO GOD, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you--even Jesus" Acts 3:19-20 (Emphasis mine)
