One thing we've all got in common is that we're human. Another thing that we have in common is that we're all going to make mistakes! One of the mistakes I commonly make is that I can get upset about things that I really don't have any control over. Fortunately, the Lord has slowly and methodically taught me that getting angry for the right reasons may not be a sin, but that hanging on to that anger IS a sin! Things that cause folks to get angry are bound to come along, and not all anger is bad. Still, holding on to that anger--having an unforgiving heart--doesn't do anybody a bit of good. In fact, it may do much more to harm us than we could ever imagine. The Scriptures tell us that holding on to anger can give the devil a foothold on our lives. Wouldn't it be better just to let it go!?
"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold." Ephesians 4:26-27
