I have a non-Christian business acquaintance who told me a year or so ago that he didn't like to do business with Christian companies. Shocked, I asked him why! He went on to tell me that the only times he'd ever really lost a lot of money, or had been done really wrong, it was after he'd agreed to do business with someone professing to be a Christian. I thought just the opposite myself. I always use a phone book that lists Christian companies and I try to give them my business whenever possible. What's weird is that I've been noticing that my friend was right. Many times, the shoddy work and outright thievery that comes from these so-called brothers in Christ is outrageous. It makes me think one of two things... Either these folks aren't really Christians, or maybe they just haven't learned the basics of our faith. The part that bothers me is that non-Christians judge our Lord based on our actions. Shouldn't we be the first to do good work and treat others fairly? Shouldn't our word be our bond?
