Have you ever approached work with an "I'll do it, but I won't like it!" attitude? Whether it's your job, school, or something your parents or friends have asked you to do, taking an attitude like that doesn't get you far with God. Sure, you may get the work done, but if you did it for the wrong reasons, what's the point? God has never been one to mince words, and although He is not an advocate of slavery, He even had advice for slaves--telling them to obey their masters--and not just with their deeds, but even with their hearts! If a slave could do it with a good attitude, do you think you could muster one up too? I think it would mean a lot to your relationship with God... and probably with your boss, teacher, parents, etc!
"Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men." Ephesians 6:5-7
