I think we all find truth hard to swallow at times, but that does not make truth any less true. For example, I grew up without knowing my real father. Although I don't think it was fair for my parents to divorce when I was only two, the fact remains I never knew my father. Like it or not, it's true. Over the last few years I've spent quite a bit of time reading through religious books from several hundred years ago. I've found many occasions where hard truths of the Bible were openly spoken of and readily held as "true" generations ago, yet are now not even mentioned in most churches. There are simply topics we don't discuss today because people don't want to hear the truth. People often leave churches over these issues. When is the last time you heard a sermon about the flames of hell for example? Jesus spoke of hell twice as many times as He spoke of heaven. Are we now not to speak of it because it upsets people? Truth is truth, and although we need it! o be careful that we don't unnecessarily hurt people by swinging the truth like a baseball bat, some things are true even if we don't like them!
"For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." John 1:17
