When I was a young man I would occasionally get caught doing something or saying something that left me feeling embarrassed or ashamed. If I added up all the things I ever did that were wrong, however, I've honestly only been caught a fraction of the time. Sure, there've been times when it seemed like I couldn't get away with anything (especially when it came to my parents), but I still got away with plenty. Today I'm a Christian, but I'm still a sinner and I still have thoughts I shouldn't have and even do things I probably shouldn't. It's different than when I was young though, 'cause as a Christian I now know that it doesn't matter whether I get caught doing something. The Lord, the angels and even all the prophets and probably even some family members who've gone to be with the Lord are witnessing my actions--both the good ones and the bad ones. The Lord even sees the motives behind what I do, knowing that even my good deeds are sometimes worthless because of wrong attitudes. As followers of Christ, we each need to become less concerned about getting "caught" and a whole lot more worried about what we do, what we think, and what we say.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Hebrews 12:1
