Do you often start your day with a full agenda, believing others should be jumping right in and doing their part to help you achieve your goals. Don't they owe you that much? Does it make you angry when your parents, or your friends, or your teachers, etc., seem to be working against you? "After everything I do for them!" might come to mind! If it did, however, it might just possibly be sinful. Does anyone really owe us anything? Isn't it you and me who are called to be servants, like Christ was? If we've done anything for someone else thinking that they should repay us one day, then we've approached service with the wrong attitude. Nobody owes us anything. It's you and I who owe Jesus. We don't give so we can get! We give because He gave... and we serve because He served. Lose the agenda... it's His agenda we're supposed to be living for!
"The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 23:11-12)
