Friends,
A few weeks ago, I had a problem with a wheel on a small trailer I use to move things around town. I’ve had the trailer for years and I guess I haven’t paid much attention to the grease in the wheels. It was a little embarrassing, and caused quite a delay, but I was able to get it fixed with the help of a mechanic. A simple lesson I learned years ago was relearned: Friction creates heat, and too much heat will inevitably cause a failure in any mechanism. What’s more, not paying attention to important things generally doesn’t end well. Grease/oil and periodic maintenance are mandatory in any machine!
As we begin our 26th year in full-time ministry, I’m almost overcome with emotion at the blessings God has bestowed on us, and on others, due in large part to the faithful gifts and prayers of you, His people. Just today, I was opening the mail when it hit me just how long some of Harvest’s friends have been helping us reach out and serve through the grace of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through days when we’ve had plenty, and many more days when it’s been lean, your prayers and other gifts have been the grease that keeps a machine running smoothly! For you, I will be forever grateful.
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Jim Kilby
