Integrity is a word we throw around a lot, but something the world is seriously lacking in this day and age. Just yesterday I saw a stack of statistics about the numbers of kids cheating in school, parents cheating at work, and just about everybody cheating the government. If that wasn't shocking enough, the fact that really blew me away was that people didn't feel they were doing anything wrong! Teachers who demand integrity from their students are routinely mocked by school administrators who don't like it when parents complain about their kids failing for cheating. Often they're asked to change their policies, or even to change or overlook the dishonest behavior. Recently I heard of a person who was attacked because they wouldn't steal things from work. You heard that right, because they WOULD NOT steal. It seems the other employees didn't like someone else being squeaky clean when they weren't. The way I see things, and I'm absolutely positive the way the Lord sees things is a complete 180 degrees from where we are today. I absolutely demand integrity from my children, my employees, and especially from myself. If we each demand it from ourselves and from those we do business with, the world would "honestly" be a better place to live.
"I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity." 1 Chronicles 17:29a
