Recently, I wrote about Jesus preaching about the temple being rebuilt in three days--an analogy of His resurrection. Clearly, most Christians know that Jesus was the "Temple," that He was God, that the Holy Spirit dwelt within Him, and that same Spirit dwells in us, too. We know it cognitively, but few of us ever really let it get beyond the knowledge level. Few will ever let it permeate who they are, how they act toward others, how much time or money they give serving the kingdom. How do I know it's a small number? Because we'd all agree it's a rare Christian who demonstrates the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) consistently day after day after day. Clearly the Lord's still got plenty of work to do on me in that department, too! Maybe the first step for all of us is to understand that no matter where we go, no matter what we do, or say, or think, God is there with us. When we sin sexually, for example, the Apostle Paul says we actually unite Christ "with a prostitute." Brothers and sisters in the Lord, it wasn't just Jesus who was the Temple... He was the cornerstone, but just like my signature element always declares, Christians are all "in Christ"... and He is IN US!" WE are where God lives! In many cases, WE are His hands, and His feet.... and even His mouthpiece. If we can run this past the cognitive level in our brains and right to the application level, it just might revolutionize how God can use us for His kingdom.
"And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit." Ephesians 2:22
