If there are a few things every person on Earth has in common, then dying will be one of them. I don't particularly want to die, but unless the Lord comes back before then, we'll ALL face bodily death. With death seeming inevitable, I'd at least like to have my life amount to something! With the possible exception of folks lost in drug or alcohol abuse, I think most people also would like to leave their mark on Earth. Personally, I'd like to raise each of my children to know Christ intimately. God's Word tells us He has a specific plan for each of our lives. Unfortunately, many fall to temptation and never completely see God's ultimate plans for their lives. Jesus, on the other hand, was tempted in every way but never failed to follow the "straight and narrow path." Because of His life, death, and resurrection, we all have hope for an eternity spent with our loving God. I don't know about you, but I call that a life that amounted to something!
"I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" Galatians 2:21
