There's an interesting thing about children that never seems to change. They are quite easily tricked into foolish behavior and dangerous situations. I recently saw a television show where a man tried to lure pre-teen boys and girls into his car to help him look for a puppy--probably the oldest trick used by pedophiles. With the approval of the parents, each encounter was filmed and to their horror, one child after another did the unthinkable--they got into the stranger's car. Similarly, new Christians can be quite gullible and can be easily led away from the important issues of faith. It seems to reason that since childhood is controlled by the hands of time, but much of growing in faith lies in the hands of the believer, each Christian should make it a priority to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, Satan is good at this game. He prods us into thinking just about everything is more important than prayer and time in the Scriptures. In the end, he gets to fight a fool-hardy baby Christian that is ill prepared for the fight.
"We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!" Hebrews 5:11-12
