I don't know about your house, but life around my house can be crazy! We've got children to feed, laundry to do, floors to vacuum, I run a non-profit corporation. There are bills to pay, lawns to mow, meals to cook, oil to change, teeth to brush... I'm sure you get the picture! So when do we take a break? Most folks never do! Even vacations can be nothing more than another hectic time of rush, rush, rush, that make time at home seem like a vacation. All of this coupled with trying to keep all our ducks lined up at work can be overwhelming. God knows this... and He also knows that although He created us to work, Satan can use our business to drown out the "still small voice" of God in our lives. That's why God commands us to take a break! That's right, He commands it! Remember the old "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy" that we've long since forgotten about? Around my house we take it a little more serious. We do everything we can to just relax for one day a week. Since we've made this effort, the rest of the week seems a whole lot more tolerable. How about you... do you need to take a break? God's Word says we need to relax even during the most difficult of times.
"Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; EVEN DURING THE PLOWING SEASON AND HARVEST you MUST REST." Exodus 34:21 (Emphasis mine)
