This evening, I had a little run in with a guy who introduced himself as a pastor. Over the period of a few minutes chatting with him, I got the distinct impression that something wasn't right. Call it Christian discernment if you like, but my spirit (or the Spirit of God in me) sent up a red flag or two. As our conversation ensued, my impression grew stronger and then after asking a few pointed Biblical questions, I came to believe the man was probably not a Christian at all. He might have even been working for the enemy (whether knowingly or unknowingly). Have you ever been in a situation where your spirit sent up a flare like that? Like it or not, there are limitless followers of Satan masquerading as pastors, deacons, elders, priests, etc., in the church today. Always have been, and until the Lord calls us home, always will be. How do I know? The Bible makes no bones about it, they're everywhere! Just remember, accept nothing at face value out of hand... study the Word and draw close to the Lord. Your own discernment and knowledge of God will lead you through the trouble that undoubtedly will come.
"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve." 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
